old clothes

"…your assumptions and pieties are evil’s best opportunity, and your conventional wisdom is what’s most likely to condemn victims to their fate".

Ross Douthat, NYT   via

By any measure, be it 'old wisdoms' or 'new enlightenment', if we lack compassion and unconditional love we lack morality, spirituaiity and cannot reasonably claim any justifications in so-called religious beliefs. I say 'so-called' because if life has taught me anything, it has taught me that most people will find in any religion that which best suits their own purpose and desires.

Hiding behind old writings and teachings is no substitute for living in the light of unconditional lovingness.

…always the children suffer MH17

MH17

In the 'fog of war' many mistakes happen. It seems clear that in the enthusiasm for 'killing the enemy' a mistake was made and a civil airliner with 298 people on board was hit by a sophisticated ground to air missile.

MH17 UN 80

Bodies rained from the sky, some naked, some with limbs torn away, over a 9 mile long pathway.

Some will say 'a mistake was made'

I say, THE MISTAKE IS WAR ITSELF for always – and in all ways – it is the children who suffer.

Not simply those murdered either. In the compound of an orphanage filled with children, naked bodies landed from this tragedy.

When will we ever learn to be as enthusiastic about loving and caring for each other, tolerating and celebrating our differences, as some are about war.

This item in tearful remembrance of all those lives so tragically stolen from us in this horrendous event.
